• Contemplate

Beautiful but deadly; Sinful, yet pure
Hearts beat steady but still so unsure.
The subject of care and habitual self-harm
Painfully she will bear her unloved left arm

Her life force so strong under weak skin
Self love never wrong, but difficult to win.
Falling into submission, she refused to compete
The touch of a hand, speak words so sweet.

She's so content with a simple delight
Not so innocent was her kiss goodnight
Her smile so sweet, a curse that still lingers
Razor in hand, seductive were her fingers

Self harm so destructive, drowned out by the lies
She's so vindictive with those sharp steel eyes
Across the highway and down the street
Never will know the people she could meet.

To show you my pain, would it make you cry?
If the truth should hurt you, should I tell a lie?
Everything happens for a reason, a stab in the gut
Time heals all wounds, I sew you tightly shut

Alas, she could make me finally complete
If our love wasn't so bittersweet.
