Kidnapped Poem

• Description: So, here's an assignment for my English poetry unit. We had to take Nikki Giovanni's "Kidnapped Poem" and change the profession from poet to ____.
  I chose pirate, as you can see. I'd just like to know what you think. While rating is nice, I'd rather get comments. (And yes, all capitalization and punctuation is correct. Stickin' to the format of the original poem as I was instructed.)

Ever been kidnapped
by a pirate
if i were a pirate
i'd kidnap you
put you in my nets and cast off

You to davey jones' locker
or maybe the middle of the seventh sea
or maybe just to my ship
sell you to the devil's life
work you in the raging squalls
watch into the night
to scour the world

Weave tales of woe for you
trap you with my lie
wrap you in the Siren's song
show you off to my crew
yeah if i were a pirate i'd kid
nap you

That's awes! I really like the idea of the assignment to u know describe the job but especially from the view of a pirate, it's a kind of cool concept to small children to be a pirate with eyepathces and hats etc. but aslo their are modern day pirates that i think really go nicley with your last stanza because though it's fun for kids to imgaine it would acutally be very scary and sad to be taken form ur home and put on borad a ship with a dangerous crew but there would also be aq sort of thrill
