I keep walking skyward
Never knowing what waits for me
Never seeing the deception
Never thinking of the consequences for my actions
As I walk they groan, squeak, and creek under my feet
The path I traverse is long and hard but the reward will be that much better
Now and then I see a window
It reveals bits and pieces of where I’m headed
The vision is split by prisms
The picture will never be clear but it makes the journey more fun
As I walk the boards give under my feet
All I can do is get up and keep on moving
Aperations appear and ascend giving words of wisdom
I hear voices of doubt each time I reach a new floor
As I climb the more relentless they get
I ignore them and they go away
I walk skyward to find the stairwells getting longer
Every step a memory
Every door a chapter
Every floor a story
I have reached the top to find my midnight sky with sapphire blue flowers
I walk the Field to find a door and behind the door more stairs
I keep walking skyward
To find my perfect end

- It's alright...yeah, it is obvious that it's a mataphor for life's journey...not really unique in the telling, and shorter is always better when it comes to poetry. Cut it in half, and find a different way of telling it, then you'll be well on your way. You do have good thoughts in this.

- Awesome! And you can definitely tell you spent a good bit of time writing it. And it is waaaay better than most of the depressing lovesick crap on here. 5/5
