Briar Rose, Briar Rose
Lay down your head
Briar Rose, Briar Rose
It's long time for bed
For to rest, for to rest
The spell must be cast
For to rest, for to rest
In a white porcelain mask
Fold your hands, fold your hands
Upon your grey dress
Fold your hands, fold your hands
And forget you're now less
Off to sleep, off to sleep
You may go to forever
Off to sleep, off to sleep
For your selfish endeavor
Now it breaks, now it breaks
Your heart into two
Now it breaks, now it breaks
There is naught you can do
Will you wake? Will you wake?
Perhaps; but not for a kiss
Will you wake? Will you wake?
It will take more than this
Night and Day, Night and Day
Is all that remains
Night and Day, Night and Day
Bound together in chains
As you sleep, as you sleep
The flowers now grow
As you sleep, as you sleep
But they'll always know
It was you, it was you
Who plants seeds and sows
It was you, it was you
Briar Rose, Briar Rose

Description:
Just a poem I wrote based on a character in a book I'm working on. If anyone does not know, Briar Rose is another name for Sleeping Beauty. I'm not terribly good at poetry, but I think this turned out fairly good with only a few hitches I might work on later.
Any and all input is appreciated. - Date: 02/23/2010

Wow, incredibly done! it's a little gloomy, but touching.. I associated it with Sleeping Beauty while reading it, so good job relating to that character...
What else can I say? 5/5, added to favorites aswell. Thanks for sharing that. ^_^ - Report As Spam
