The sun hit its fiery rays of burning light on my skin, I could hear it sizzle
my body is vexed from sitting in this chair for what it seems like an eternity
I crack open the gelid coke can from the cooler, and listen to the bubbles rising
tiny chickadees chirp gleefully as they feed from my neighbors birdhouse
from a distance, my ears catch the squealing of eight year olds with their super soakers
the tires of an ice cream mans truck shriek as he makes a halt for the kids
ringing vibrations of a stereo set on full blast taunted me as the house in front tested my patience
feeling too abeyant to care so I just slurped on the last bit of my caffeine packed drink
I lay back in my chair and shut my eyes, the summer breeze sings a winsome tune
I wish my worries would liquefy themselves and evaporate in the warmth of the sun
it doesn't matter for how long, even a minute would do good
I want to imprison myself in this careless world, just for a little while longer
