In out out in
Draining slowing
Wearing down
Drooping shoulders
Half-mast eyes
Too much energy to stay awake
Slipping away
Little by little
Into nothing
Lifeless shell
Awaken sporadically
In fits of rage
That terrify
Back into hibernation
Safest place to be
For what’s left of yourself
To keep you whole
So you can wake
With somewhere to go
Don’t harm
Only you
Fear loss of control
Means loss of self
Secrete it all away
Nothing shows
Walk among others
Never let go
Of the chains inside
That allow you
To tell the nameless being
That rages inside
No
