• Its winter
    Nothings hitting
Sky is gray even though the sun has risen
A train pulls up leaves everyone hoping the next big hit is there
Tracks keep hitting the same way
Nothing new for these nice people
Girls talking gossip by a light post
Maybe they should be in school
    Then again they wait fail
Adults watching hoping the make they right sale
Knowing success is a tall tail
    It’s frozen out side
    Ice is thick
Bundled up in some corner store a man scratching away with a penny again
You know he’s trying to win the lottery
What do you think he’ll do with the cash
Think he’ll invest it in his town
Try to nurture its people thriving for a better tomorrow of all
Or think he’ll lock it all up in a safe
Throw it up on his own shelf
Think he’ll flee with the prize
    He’s got dreams to
Would take the chance if the chance would just come
You know he’s tired of working double shifts
    Hardly surviving
    Wouldn’t you do the safe
Seems so quickly we place the blame
    On the game we play
When seasons change not much else does
Can’t change the world like you change the song
It’s not that easy not that quick
    The trees are stripped bear
    The leaves have given
All the ******** up s**t’s in the air
But spring will come back just like everyone’s hoping
