• A sunlight lake
    In the afternoon.
    Dancing and twirling
    On a beach of gold.

    The lake shines silver
    For that is its name.
    The tall willow tree,
The stray cat with no name.

    The dock,
    Hidden by the many cattails
    A hidden beauty
    For anyone to see.

    The birds whistle,
    The sky turns beautiful shades
    Of purple, orange, pink.
    The colors melt into darkness.

    This little lake,
    Only two streets down
    Feels like it isn't even
    In a town.

    The quiet and the peace,
    The birds chirps.
The feel of the lake water
    As you swim.

    The lake is my home
    It will always be
It is where I feel safe,
It is where I want to be.
