• Sorrow and loneliness are my friends,
fear and hatred are my home,
    misery is my soul.

Found in the darkest of places,
    where God cannot reach,
    I’m happy here,
    where demons fear to be.

    Pity me not,
    for here I help
    those that are lost,
find their way back to the light.

    And should a day come,
that an angel comes for me,
    I’ll say to him,
“here I do good, why should I go.”

If I should find one like me,
we will do this work together.
    I am an outcast,
and I stand guard over the light.
