• Once so close,
    Now so far.

    Once no anger,
    Now no peace.

    Now I get my dose,
    Of a long lost war.

I can’t believe you would wager,
    That nothing would cease.

You told me nothing but lies,
Though I gave you my trust.

    You said you were different,
    You said you would stay.

Stand and stare as my soul dies,
    You had nothing but lust.

    Though I was incompetent,
    You kept me at bay.

    All I had was lost,
    Everything you gain.

    You left me here,
    Alone and with no care.

    You never worried the cost,
    No matter how much pain.

    I shed another tear,
    As you begin to tear.

    Broken and battered,
    I walk alone.

    I start life over,
    A brand new start.

I care not that I’m tattered,
Someone will repair what is known.

    No longer will I hover,
    Over the smallest part.

    Life is a journey,
    Life is a puzzle.

    No day is the same,
    Everyday holds new beginnings…
