A song long forgotten since that day
The day distance swelled well upon us
Too far for us to reach


Too much reasons for each
Aloof of what immodest untruth
From hoping forever we would


Is there any good?
To remember our song so sweet and kind?
To feel those lost lyrics once more?


You can never hear the voice you once adored
I will ever be empty and dispondent
Always longing of the one I once knew


Pain clasped to let go of you
As the song was ending and tired
On repeat but ever to be omitted


Though I had never admitted
That I had slighted everything of you
But never can I have the same you again

I enjoy your rhyme scheme. You subject is striking as well. It reminds me of the way a single song can remind you so strikingly of one particular person or place. You can hear the speaker in the poem struggling with this aspect of the song in question. Listen to the song and be reminded of the person and the pain that comes with the loss of that person, or to stop listening all together?
