• Dearly Beloved,

I'm writing this by candle light,
Because I live a life of fright.
You must be quiet, please don't scream.
You will not wake, this is no dream.
    I'm trapped inside a fairytale.
A quick shadow without a trail.
So please, amongst all of your grief,
Please love me still, though I'm a thief.

The townsfolk, they are drawing near,
In hand with pitchfork and with spear.
The hound dogs, they are calling out
To show their kin my whereabouts.
I write in haste, I must be fast.
Foots crash upon the forest path.
I've sent this note by mockingbird
in hopes that you receive my word.

One day, I asked you for a wish,
"What do you want from all of this?"
You said, "A diamond ring, a wedding band,
to be with you would be most grand."
So here it is, my beautiful.
A bond of love, wrapped up in gold.
In my haste, I pray to thee,
Please take my hand and marry me.
