(no name)
A pilot
Co-pilot,
Passengers, we're going down
A great steel bird, but it's all fire now
goin' down to the sea
And oh, you can't see
through those cold stone walls
that the phoenix went up in smoke
a long, long time ago.
And we're both ashes now,
you and me.
Yeah, we're all ashes now,
blowing in a lonely wind
carried on the currents, through the halls
And we're all ashes,
drifting song, shimmering sea
Spread those ashen wings, love,
and break free.

- Title: A poem I wrote today.

Description:
This poem is from today. A pencil scrawled little symbols on a slip of "eco-friendly," 80% post-consumer paper. The sky was blue, brushed with long wisps of those thin, feathery clouds, my favorite sort--all and all, a very stunning arrangement. Darker, heavier clouds loomed at the edges, however, and I knew a storm would arrive later today. As I type this now, just such a storm is brewing outside. I love storms, you know? Very dramatic.
Anyways. Do enjoy. - Date: 08/03/2011

Only a single critique...
A phoenix... gone up in smoke...?
Other than that, I love it.
