• There is a girl whose name I love
She’s a sweet angel from above
Her hair, her eyes, her smile
Beg me to stop and stay a while
Her love surrounds and keeps me
With her, will I always be truly free,
She knows not what beauty she has
Or the truth to what I may say,
But with her shall I pass
    Into every day

Her loving looks, her starlit eyes
Having shook the earth and skies,
Love and compassion did from her depart,
To soothe my broken, aching heart,
And still with the passing of every hour,
She shows and bestows her wondrous power,
To make every day of every year
To start and stop every tear.

And now, another year is spent,
Since she herself to me has lent,
To cleanse and fix a broken me
    To be with me eternally.
    Another year, since her birth,
    Another year, showing worth,
For all she lovingly has done,
Have or shall, will ever do.
    Her kindness, loving grace flew
As the world went round the sun.
And to those who doubt her loving eyes
    Stars from the very skies
    Proclaim in epic glory hewn
    To corruption, selfishness forever immune,
Every year from the lovely flower,
I catch a petal from the shower,
Testament to the woman she was and is,
Evidence to save for only this:
Whenever I was in dire and greatest strife
I was saved by the love of my life.
I love her now, and I always will,
For she’s been right there beside me, even is still.
