• A lonely child walks through the dreary streets,
    sadness dwelling in his heart.
His sadness would just as soon deplete,
    if only it weren't dark.
    Sure, the sun is out,
and people are far from scarce,
but they walk past each other with empty eyes,
    eyes the boy despairs.
    What happened to the gentle?
    Where did kindness go?
    Is everyone a stranger,
    as transient as the snow?
    The little boy's lips quiver,
as he thinks of human kind.
    These days,
    lack of emotion
    is making people blind.
