Where are you now
Facing the morning,
It’s haze of strong violet
Triumphing over the night?
You crawled out of bed
With fire in your eyes,
Ready to walk off
Sleep and sorrow and drink.
Where are your dreams,
Your youth and your will,
Now smothered in red waters like the bay
Leaves you used for his cooking?
He left you for another’s bed,
And you crumbled
Into the backseat of my car,
Weeping for lost love
That was never love at all.

- Title: Where Are You Now?
- Artist: saritasunshine
- Description: I don't usually write poetry, and I'm not a great judge of it, but this came to me after reading two hours of poems for a project, and I could only think in rhythm for a while. I just talked to myself in rhythm and...this happened. Don't know how good this is, but I'm not done revising my short stories. Thanks.
