Once upon a time there was
A soul so lost and torn and dark
He cursed the world and all its ways
His voice so cold he left a mark
Before he left the world of cities
Starving for a taste of fire
He wished a world with dripping colors
And faded with his one desire
He said when debts come first
And morals later
People tend to
Call us "traitor"
Against the code
Black cities follow
So strict and base
But mostly hollow
And those inside
Don't rattle or shake
And their shows of feeling
Come off as fake
God, even I
So lost can see
Whats breaking
So invisibly
The banks, wallets
Lights and roads
The end of times
The future bodes
Where all the things
They hold so dear
Are of worth like dust
And fade so clear
I curse that world
So black and white
I dream for color
I dream for light
And so I'll go
And watch this plain
From night afar
'Till changes wane
That's his story
That still in waiting
For an ending
I'm simply stating
He sees a time
Black cities burn
With colors bleeding
And tainted learn
