Morning Light
Like a misguided knight
The sun awakes me
Reaching out to kiss my lips
With it's first rays of light
Waking me
Like a princess
Who has for an age
Been under the spell of sleep
I open my eyes
And instantly
I love the day
Which greets me
And the light
Which warms a body long still
Bringing it to life
Each sound that bursts
Upon my ears
Gently resounds
Under the cushioning spell
Of first awakening
I take my first breath
As if it were my very first
And kiss the day
With parted lips
As if it were my one
True love
- Title: Morning Light
- Artist: Nemone
- Description: This is one of the few poems I've written that can actually be called cheerful. It's also one of the few free-verse of my own that I actually like. I hope you enjoy it.
