The words are silent, the smells obnoxious
Blues, purples, blacks, yellows
A bruise, a stain on my lifeless page
Try to smooth it into the parchment and
It grows.
Spreads like wildfire,
Ancient phoenix reborn time again
Scourge and smith of knowledge
Shape the blotch on the page
Change it.
Ink and fire, let it burn!
Fragile, the page takes flight
Brilliant embers reduced to dull ash.
Conquered page, letter.
It lives!
Silence is serene
Insanity fills the air
Two spots now, the ink marks the page.
Sweet sensations, burn again!
Eat it alive!

- Title: The Rekindling
- Artist: infinitexcode
- Description: This piece was done for a homework assignment. We were to create a poem using a style similar to Sylvia Plath. Sylvia Plath commonly used mythology, enjambment, and vivid imagery in her poetry, as well as displayed a large vocabulary and dark underlying themes. I recieved 10/10 points for this assignment, but could you tell me what you think??
