Argh, there's no end to the bullshit these days. I like to know what's going on in the world, but right now I'm afraid to turn on the news since it all seems to be coming out of the Twilight Zone.

If you don't think that the Michael Jackson Trial isn't a circus/freak show, you're either ignorant, delusional, a mindless Michael Jackson fan or some combination of the aforementioned. I personally don't really know or care if he's guilty or not, that's the court's job. But everyone in the whole drama has been behaving like a moron and making a mockery of what's supposed be about the truth and justice in a civil society (cue snickers from lawyers). Particularly Wacko Jacko, who's been ignoring everyone's perception of him as a freak and carrying on in ways that can only damage his case. In one instance, he compared himself to Nelson Mandela, saying he was being unfairly persecuted. Don't ask me to shed tears for Jackson, the only thing he's got in common with Mandela is that he once had the same skin color as him. Mandela was a great spokesman and champion of human rights, a victim of racism who emerged from prison after years of imprisonment and mistreatment without bitterness who then became a great leader for his people. Michael Jackson's a recording 'artist', who's been adored by the media for years, sold millions of albums and sqandered his fortune on a ranch with a petting zoo and theme park, while parading his kids around in masks and never been to jail, even when he should have been (*cough*baby dangler*cough*). Well, Mr. Jackson, even if you're not a child molester, you'll always at least be guilty of being a delusional, spoiled, self-important pissant who shall always insist upon being the center of attention even when others deserve it more, doing worthwhile things like trying to improve the human condition at the risk of their own lives.

Hey, if you thought I was harsh with Michael Jackson, you'll love what I think of the British Royal Family. They really annoy me too, since they're pretty useless and don't do anything beyond stand around and act dysfunctional so tourists can take their pictures and the world media can fuss over every little thing they do. I don't care if someone's royalty, it's just a title. They still have to eat, piss, s**t, fart and die like everybody else. Unless you go out of your way to serve some useful function, like Princess Di and all her charitable causes, the fact that you're royalty isn't going to matter in the grand scheme of things. Besides the British Royal family, goes the same for any Royal Family, be they Arab or Japanese or whatever; if you want to impress me, go use your power to do something useful.

Look guys, I'm cool with anime and all, but ever since the West's obsession with all things Asian (particularly Japanese) hit mainstream, it just seems to be spiraling down the crapper and some of it's just pissing me off. From the recent hack jobs of cheap suck-a** anime that's recently been brought over, the recent old wounds that got reopened in Asia from a Japanese school textbook that allegedly whitewashes Japan's wartime atrocities and Gwen Stefani's current artistic fashions that arose in the timeless strategy of ripping off other stuff. It happened with punk, goth and it'll probably happen with anime, it's called "The Fallacy of Composition" a common logicial error where it may be a good idea if a few are doing it, but not if everyone does it. If one person stands up in a theater, his view of the movie is improved, but if everybody does it, then everyone's view is no more improved then before. I think it's the same thing with anime, it's more fun when it's niche but when everyone jumps on the bandwagon for money and shitty merchandise, it just starts to suck.

Since I live in Ontario, the fact that the TTC is probably going on strike starting tommorow kind of annoys me. I don't use them that often, but I was hoping to ride the bus to Pacific Mall after my exams to enjoy the day. Hopefully the strike will be over by then, but these days it seems like every union has some kind of beef and the public never gets a piss break in between.

Well, I guess I should go study, so that way I don't have to deal with the recent crap in current events. Got an exam tommorow, whee....
