Here It Comes
Part 16
"I'm sorry but you're going to have to leave now. Visiting hours are over." A nurse gently placed a hand on Lindsey's sholder. She looked up at the nurse, her face was full of sympathy. "Okay... Bye Matt. I hope you get better soon..." She walked over to his motionless body and gently kissed on the cheek. "Will he be okay?" She asked. "I'm not sure. He suffered severe injuries to his head during the fall. Not to mention he got shot. He was out for 6 minutes, so I'm surprised his still "alive" right now. But maybe he's stronger than we think..." Lindsey sighed as she walked out the door. She wrapped her scarf tighter around her neck and slid on her boots. She walked into the silent halls and out the front door. The air was very cold and she could see her breath right away. She stuffed her hands in her pockets and walked down the empty streets. There were no cars, no people on bikes, no birds chirping, just the sound of footsteps. She stopped when she reached the entrance to the city's grave yard. She pushed open the rusty gate with hardly any effort. She looked ahead at the untouched snow infront of her. Looks like no one's been here in a while she thought. She kept walking to the far left all the way to the back fence on the other side. She brushed the snow off of two of the tomb stones. And sat on one of them. She sat there in silence before she spoke. "It's been a while hasn't it? How are you two doing? I really miss you Mark. And I know Matt misses you Tara." Mark was Lindsey's little brother. He was hit by a car when he was four and a half, the reason her familly is no longer. Tara is Matt's litte sister. She died of caner when she was four. She died five years ago. Lindsey offten reminds Matt of Tara because her attitude was always positive, no matter the situation. "How is it, up in heaven? Are the clouds made of cotton candy? Do you guys have lots of friends? You might be wondering why I came to talk to you. Well, you might have a new friend coming to live with you guys..." She took a pause to try and keep herself from crying. Then she continued," It's Matt. Yes Tara, you might get to live with your brother again. And Mark, you'll get to play with him again too. I just wanted to... I just wanted to ask that you... Ah, who am I kidding?! Matt is going to die and it's all my fault!" Lindsey fell off her brother's tomb stone, but she didn't care. She began to cry. "He was only trying to save me... And know, he's going to die instead! Why the hell does it have to be him?! Can't you reason with God? Tell him he can't leave? Tell him that I'm not ready to let him go. Not now. Please..." She curled up between the two tombstones." I don't want you to cry Tara... I just want you to be there for him when he comes. okay? Show him the ropes... You know, that sortta stuff. Because I can't do this anymore. I can't live this way. If he dies, that's it. No more Lindsey. I don't know what I'll do, but I just want you to make him happy up there. Because clearly, we weren't meant to be. Not to ever see him again. Touch him, talk to him, hear his sweet voice." She choked on the worsd that came out next, "Even when I die I won't be able to be with him.Clearly I--" She yawned," Clearly I am ment to go to Hell."
