The thought of Evan not loving me felt like poison needles, striking my heart, piercing my emotions. I felt sick. Had I really been that stupid? No, I couldn't have. I knew he liked me. But were his feelings the same as before? And this girl from my vision - was she real? I knew one thing - if this girl was real, she doesn't like me. But she likes Evan. But what if she isn't real? If she was a trick of my mind? I felt confused. I wasn't sure of anything anymore. So I got my bag and left.
I stared out the window of the bus. A lot has changed since I've lived here. Brit and Dez moved away, Courtney moved away, and now I'm all alone on the bus. I felt depressed. All of my best friends had left me. I went from having many to having just Allana. The bus stopped too hard. I got thrown into the seat. When I peeled my face off the leather, I realized that the person getting on was going to sit with me. I didn't pay much attention. I went back to the window. The boy next to me was tall and wearing all black. What's up with kids wearing all black lately? I wondered. Does middle school corrupt a person that much? Or were they like that? I hoped that someday all the kids in black could be better. That they would stop wearing black, and act happy for once.
"You don't talk much, do you?" The boy asked. I looked away from my window.
"I just don't know any one here. All my friends are still in elementary." I responded.
"They get held back?"
"No! They're all younger than me. Some of them I might never see again." He nodded and looked away.
That day at school, I must have looked terrible, because people kept asking me what was wrong.
"Liz, whats wrong?" Allana asked. We were at lunch. I had zoned out.
"Oh, I just didn't get enough sleep last night." I lied.
"Really? Cause you look more sad than tired."
"Oh, you caught me. Well, I think Evan's been ignoring me. I don't know what I did, but when I call to him, he doesn't answer."
"Ignoring you? Liz, not to be mean, but grow up! Evan loves you! You're just paranoid. So he doesn't notice you once, it-"
"He hasn't noticed me five times now. I yelled Ev but he just kept walking."
"O M G are you serious?"
"Dead."
"O M G you need to talk to him!"
"But I can never get his attention."
"Wear makeup and dress hot. He'll notice you."
"You're sick."
"Thank you! I take it as a complement."
When I got on the bus, I saw the boy sitting with a girl. The girl looked very familiar, though I knew I didn't know her. She was smiling and laughing.
"Hey, she your girlfriend?" I asked.
"No I'm not his ******** girlfriend. He's too stupid." The girl said.
"Well excuse me for being sooo dumb." The boy said.
"Your not excused!"
"f**!"
"Did you just call me a ******** f**? You're the ******** f**!"
"At least I don't worship an anime character!"
"I don't worship him! I just think he's hot!"
"Oh, and thats not obsessing?"
"I do not obsess I - well, I obsess sometimes but not like that!"
"Ok, ok, break it up you two. You're not going out. Thats all I wanted to know. So, just calm down. Hi, my name's Liz, what about you guys?"
"I'm Emily." The girl said.
"Shane." The boy said.
"Ok, so now I know, Emily and Shane equals not together. Thanks." I said.
"Your welcome." I heard a loud smack.
