Karin stared in disfelief. Her own sister was sitting next to her. She couldn't believe it. Her brother always told her that Anju was a full vampire since she was twelve. How could she be in the sun? Karin thought for a moment. She remembered her brother saying something about Anju having a deep secret. A secret in which she held close. Could that be it?
Anju looked at Karin, wondering what the face was for.
"So..Uh..What's your name?" Anju asked.
Karin blinked back into reality.
"Oh! It's...uh..."
"Karin!!!"
Karin and Anju jumped at the voice. Karin looked behind her to see who it was. There was Brittany Sohma, smiling away with a tray of food in her hands. Karin smiled a bit.
"God dammit! Don't scare me like that!!"
Brittany giggled.
"Sorry about that. It's just that I haven't seen you since summer break started. You have to---"
Brittany paused as she looked over at Anju.
"Hey. Who's the youngin?"
"This is Anju," Karin replied softly. "My sister..."
When the words, 'my sister' was muttered, Brittany and Anju stared at Karin, both in confusion and disbelief. Brittany started to point back and forth from Karin to Anju with her jaw dropped. They looked nothing alike. ANju stayed quiet, thinking of what Karin said. Suddenly, Brittany smacked her hand on the table, stood up and yelled,
"SISTER?!?!"
Everyone in the cafeteria went quiet. All you could hear we mummers and whispers from some of the students. Karin smacked her hand on her forehead and whispered,
"Don't make a scene!!"
Brittany, turning bright red, quickly sat down and hid her face. Slowly, the chatter started up again.
"You had a sister and you didn't tell me?!" hissed Brittany.
Karin stuck her tounge out at her.
"I haven't seen Anju in five years. I thought I'd never see----"
Karin was cut off by the small voice of Anju.
"You are not my sister. My sister was banished for being a half-breed. I've never seen her since. But later on, we found out she had commited sucide. Sucide because of what she was," Anju paused and passed a glance at Karin. "You, are not Karin."
Karin started at Anju. Sucide? Where did this come from? Her brother. It had to be him. He wasn't a big fan of Karin. He hated that she was even his sister. In fact, he hated all half vampires. It was his idea to banish all half vampires when they found out that one of their relelitives was one. He said they couldn't handle them. After that, the rule was passed and the next month, Karin was banished.

Karin quickly pulled out a photo from her wallet of her and Anju a year before she was banished. She gave the picture to Anju.
"See? That's me and you. I am Karin!"
Anju shook her head.
"She could have given it to you..."
As Karin banged her head on the table, she thought of something. The Maaka family birthmark. On everyone member of the Maaka family, their was a small birthdmark of a bat on their wrists. Karin grabbed Anju's wrist and put it up against hers. The birthmarks were there and the same. As Anju stared, she began to cry.
"Karin...Karin..It is you..."
Anju hugged Karin tightly. Karin smiled, hugging her back.
"I missed you so much.." she said softly.
As the bell for first class rang, all three of them jumped.
"Uh..Well," Karin stared. "Better get to class!"
Anju nodded, said her goodbyes and walked out of the cafeteria.
"Well!! That was interesting!!" Brittany yelled.
"Gah!! Stop yelling!!" Karin yelled back. "Anyways, what class do we have first?"
Brittany streched and grinned wildly.
"Heh Heh. PE!"
"Aw Great...."
