CHAPTER FOUR!!!
Chapter Four
Death Has its Warnings
Days and weeks passed from Karin's wild first days of school. Fall was in the air and the leaves changed into their fall skins. As the ground cluttered with falling leaves, the fall winds and chills came, knocked on the school's front gates and came right on in. Leaves danced about in the sky, making it seem it was raining leaves. Students of all races were high on the fall season and enjoyed more of the outside weather everyday. The uniforms of summer where put away for the winter uniforms to take over. This was the time of year that most of the sports teams started to get players and start the fall season. Karin's coach had begged her to join the track team and she eventually gave in. With her on their team, they were destined to win the upcoming track meet that Friday.

Karin walked out of her bathroom with nothing but a towel on and the hot steam from the shower rushed out in front of her to heat the cooled places. Karin sat down on her bed before falling backwards into her soft, silky covers. Today was on her track team practices and she was exhausted. Her coach had pushed and pushed her until she was about to collapse. Brittany and Anju came to watch her practice. Anju was amazed by her sister's skill and Brittany cheered Karin on to beat her record. It seemed like Karin and Anju were able to spend a lot more time with each other now that they go to the same school. The spent time with each other every weekend and had always such amazing times. Karin was happier then she had ever been in her life. She thought that nothing could go wrong, but she was horribly wrong.
A phone awoke Karin from her little fantasy world with a jolt. She answered her phone, slightly angry and annoyed.
"Hello?" Karin said in a depressed tone. No answer. She repeated her hello twice and there was still no answer.
"Alright, who is this? Is this some sort of joke?"
Still, there was no answer. Karin, annoyed and frustrated, started to hang up the phone when her ears caught a faint voice on the phone. She quickly put the phone to her ear.
"Eh?! Eh?! Hello?!"
There was a long pause and the voice spoke.
"Time's almost up Karin-Chan. I'm coming for you..."
The person on the other line hung up with a small chuckle. Karin dropped her phone and stared at the wall with her mouth wide open. She quivered for a moment and then let out an ear-shattering scream.
Brittany and Anju quickly ran to her aid, followed by curious students and teachers. Shiroki pushed her way through the crowd, sat beside Karin and put her arm around her to console her. She shivered with fear and had a face of dread on her.
"Sister! What happened!?"
"Hey, are you okay?"
"Karin-Chan! What's wrong?!"
Questions flew through the air and Karin asked everyone to leave except the three beside her to leave. Everyone left with their questions unanswered.
"Sister....What happened?"
Karin quietly explained what happened and why she screamed. Everything to the very, last detail.
"It was probably a prank call, Karin," Brittany started, "You know boys like to scare us!"
"N-no," Karin replied, "It was real. Something about his voice was familiar and serious..."

The next few days, Karin became paranoid and she tried to stay indoors as much as possible. She demanded that Anju or Brittany be with her at all times. But today she had a track meet and couldn't back down. Her team was counting on her. She went bravely, but of course Karin made her sister and Brittany come with her. Anju was to keep watch for any signs of trouble and Brittany just came to cheer her on.
The whistle blew a signal for the girls to start their first lap. Karin got right into the lead and was proud yet disappointed.
"Geez, I wish someone could be almost as fast as me. Then this would be a lot better."
Anju quietly looked around, looking for something out place. She glanced at her sister, running her third lap and smiled. She quickly glanced back up and noticed a tall dark figure and gasped. She couldn't see who it was, but it looked like trouble. Suddenly, the figure moved and threw something right towards Karin.
"KARIN!!" Anju screamed, "STOP!!"
Karin stopped and turned around, toward her sister.
"Eh? What is it, An---"
Karin stopped in the middle of her sentence and looked down at her chest. A large dagger was lodged right where her heart was. She let out a small cry of pain and she looked up to see the dark figure. The figure hopped off the building and then she realized something. It was someone she knew, someone who used to be close to her.
"B-Big Brother?!"
As these words were muttered, Karin collapsed to the ground.
