Failed To Dream
I awoke in the night...my head still swimming
I felt so empty...with my lack of dreaming...
I tried and failed to conjure your image...
it is as if on my mind...you are a blemish...
I cry out your name...in the darkening haze...
but to my weakness...my cry has no faze....
I miss the touch we once did share...
now I am alone...it is something I just can not bare....
This feeling of empty...I have felt it before...
I had once discarded it...and now...it reutrned for more...
I guess they were right....
it is in plain sight...
they were right....I am weak...
and my future...it seems so bleak...
I guess I was a fool to see our future as one...
but..now...there is nothing that can be done...
I will hang my head....in agony and shame...
but....do not worry...you are not to blame...
I carry my fault...like a carry my lonely...
I return to the darkness...where I find it homely...
My search for light...will continue once more...
I will await in darkness....behind closed doors...
The best things in life...sometimes are not what they seem...
do not be like this fool......who failed to dream...
