I constantly run into guys (and a few girls) who think I'm totally hot and wanna be with me. The more I talk to these same people, however, I find they are drawn to my avatar.

As you all know, this avatar is fairly exact to how I look in real life. Yep, even down to running around with a scythe and a bird on my back. My avatar isn't a series of pixelated images at all.

These same people who "fall in love" with my avatar are also the ones who like to use the insults. When I tell these people I'm not interested in them, they are quick to try to degrade me with deragatory names. Because, we all know insulting me will make me change my mind and let me know you really care that much about me.

I know these people are everywhere and growing in numbers, but whatever happened to people? I would like to blame it on the age of said people, but I think I knew at seven a drawing wasn't an actual representation. To find attraction to such things is not only idiotic, but shallow. It's a drawing, no, a series of code. You are aroused by a bunch of code. If you saw me in real life, you wouldn't touch me with a ten foot pole.

Moreover, berating me shows me you have no respect for me. I refuse to take abuse because I'm not attracted to a person (most likely underage anyway) whom I know nothing about. Yes, I said it, if you insult people to get your way, you're abusive.

Basically, people in today's society are programmed to believe the image they see is reality. If anything contradicts their fantasy, then something must be wrong with other person, not the individual. I'm not sure if there is a real reason why, apart from people not learning the truth. However, I don't believe it results from one external source.

I would like to say this: don't believe everything you see. If you do, that's why you're still single.
