Bio: A first year high school student who has to take up a job at the SPR; after she accidentally hurts Shibuya's assistant and becomes a temporary replacement. She openly dislikes Shibuya for his egotistical attitude, but she seems to be harboring romantic feelings for him which manifests in dreams with him smiling and supporting her. Many times has she helped them in their cases with the use of her ESP abilities although it wasn't until later when a test that Naru has given her as confirmed that she was a type of psychic as well.
Roleplaying Sample:
Mai pouted, her hands firmly on her hips as she glares at the door where the narcissist had gone through, leaving her alone in the office without informing here where on earth he was off to at this hour. It was evening already, and it has been days since their last case. Out of kindness, for it was chilly tonight, she had prepared him some tea without waiting for him to ask her to prepare some and even added some shortbread biscuits. And she was just about to act like a good assistant and announce what she had for him when all of a sudden, he drops his documents and say, "I'm going out."
Baffled, she just stood there with the tray in her hands and watched as he slips on his coat. Not even bothering to tell her more, Naru brushes past her and says something about don't forget to lock the office and out he goes. Mai had tried very hard to not drop the chinaware and instead set it down, before shouting at the closed door on what an idiot he is. She hates it when he is very mysterious and does not tell her anything! Sure, he gave her a job, a chance to find out what she is capable of but come on! He has to at least say when he will be back or what she can do in the meantime.
It felt like he was brushing her off and does not want to be involved with whatever he was doing. Shocked, she mentally slapped herself and clapped a hand to her forehead. "What am I doing? It's his life and not mine!" Mai said irately and plopped herself onto one of the armchairs. A heavy sigh escaped her mouth as she leaned back and tried to calm herself down. From the corner of her eye, she could see the still warm tea and small treats she had taken out. Grumbling, she reached over for them and sipped the soothing warm tea, letting it ease down her tensed body.
Slightly frowning, she grabbed one of the cookies. "Darn that Naru, next time he's going to make his own tea!"

//My Delayed Reaction// Can be perky when I want, cheerful and I am pretty optimistic even though it's the streets that's my stage. Once I set my mind on something, I will never give up and will do everything in my power to accomplish it. I can be pretty sensitive when it comes to deciphering other people's feelings and emotions, but I usually keep my mouth shut unless I know when it's alright to let it out.
Before springing right into action, I would think but then there are times when I can be impulsive so you better get ready to be there to hold me back before I do something reckless. I enjoy the peace and quiet as much as I enjoy music which is my life. Most of my songs are usually what I feel while writing them with messages hidden between the notes. When I get angry, usually I would get eerily silent and it can be scary sometimes. I have a soft spot for anything helpless and adorable, but that's probably after spending some time without a home.

In the beginning I stayed at an orphanage but I hated it there, even though everybody seemed nice, I just did. So, after doing several part-time jobs, I was able to move out of that place and then started going down the road towards my dream. Even though it's hard and taking a bit long, it's fine with me since I have my friends who are also working hard to become famous icons in this world.

Bio: Years of being in Heaven, being at the side of the Merciful Goddess has bored her and after spending so much time watching over the people in the underheaven, her curiosity was sparked and has gotten deeply intrigued with their lives. Her life wasn't all that happy, as her parents were killed due to their foolishness, and had led a very strict and punctual life because of them. Was freed from this silent torture once they had passed away and was placed under the care of the Merciful Goddess.
Without the permission of the officials, she left the Palace, wanting to seek answers from various people who seemed to have what she was looking for. Will aid different sides, depending on the benefits that will take place if she does so. During her journey, has come across Kuai the dragon, after his clan was killed and swore to follow her as he has nowhere else to go. Approximately 5'6 in height and gives out a powerful aura. As much as possible she hardly shows emotions as she has been taught by her parents not to as it was unnecessary. It takes a long time for her to trust someone and will speak her mind no matter what. Although what she says usually aren't vulgar at all, but her opinions, depending on the topic and situation.

Appearance: Lyria Rie will usually wear dark seductive dresses, even while on missions and it is usually to trick most males into her clutches. The ribbon around her forehead can be controlled as well and is always used whenever she changes her hairstyle. Most of the time, her hair is tied with the ribbon wrapped around it as to keep her hair from getting in the way.
Weapon: Strings that are has thin as spider's web, strong as steel itself and sharp as a steel knife. She keeps these hidden and manipulates them with ease. She can use these to control the actions of humans likes puppets, but they would have to be a weak state for her to be able to take full control of their bodies. As soon as the strings are attached to them, it's impossible for them to cut through these impenetrable strings. She is also gifted with psychic powers such as teleportation, telepahty and telekinesis but only uses them when necessary.
Personality: She's not the anti-social type but she's not the talkative type either. She prefers to listen to other people than do the talking, but will participate in conversations. She hates to being bored, and not have anything interesting happen around her. Once something has caught her eye, she would go and investigate it and depending on her mood or the event that is taking place, she might allow herself to be involved. One of her flaws is being too honest to other, especially when it comes to critiques and would usually end up starting a small squabble because of this. But in fact, she is a very polite woman, but there are times when irritation gets the best of her.

Usually, she has a knack for spotting things with true beauty that most would fail to see. Background: Nothing that interesting about her real family as they have been dead for a very long time, but doesn't mourn for them as she has already moved on. Until recently, out of interest and some kindness that dwells in her heart, she allowed herself to be adopted by an old married couple for she resembled their dead daughter. Even though to them it was happiness for having her, to her, it was a lie as she only let herself be brought to the family for a change in her dull life. Except, she soon started to get attached them, and it was her mistake, for months later, they passed away and she experienced sadness after years of only thinking of herself.
It was then she realized her weakness, which is caring too much about those who she allows to get close to her and she accepted it with difficulty. Lyria inherited all their belongings and such, but it wasn't like their were a rich couple or anything, just a fortunate family. After getting over their deaths, she realized that she was bored once again and decided to put up her own little business for fun once again. She works as a bodyguard for important clients and uses this as an opportunity to gather her prey.

Of course as expected from one who is interested in Black Magic, she is quiet, can be anti-social, calm, calculating. Even though her face may not display most of her emotions, deep down, she feels like every other human being, but never shared them with others as it seemed unnecessary while practicing Black Magic. She is also surprisingly polite, startling most people who expects her to be the rude type, but yes, she knows her manners. Will only show respect to others if they give it to her as well.
Do not test her patience though, once she is angry, she will be eerily silent, usually frightening most people as her expression would seem dangerous. Is very sensitive to the emotions and feelings of others and will only mention it if essential to do so, but would usually keep it to herself as sometimes it she would rather do other things than meddle with the affairs of others. If someone has a problem, she would only help if that troubled one is willing for her to aid him or her, but if not then she will leave that person to solve their problems.
Mei enjoys peace and quiet, so will be deeply annoyed if anybody would disturb her while she is either meditating, reading or working. Unlike some people, she isn't affected by the light, she is rather used to it as before she joined this club, she would be out playing in the sunshine. Even though it is not evident, she accepts the company of others, but does not tell them as most have already judged her as one who is very independent, and possibly a loner. Most of the time she will be reading, writing and maybe even drawing all by herself. But despite all of these, she is of course capable of smiling from time to time, in mere amusement, interest and many more.
Can speak some other languages, but she just likes to use some terms to confuse people or for no reason at all. One of them being French, but doesn't speak it all the way as she just learned a bit for fun. Mei also enjoy sweets, roses, serenity, soothing music and literature. Most of all, she adored Black Magic. She can also play the violin and usually does so at night, especially if the moon is out. For her age, she is considered by most people as a very mature lady, but has so far never admitted it herself as it doesn't matter. Mei is Mei, she is herself and no one can change that.
Shoji, her younger brother is interested in sports, studying and is excellent culinary skills for his age. Spending time with his sister never influenced him to like dark arts, but maintained his ordinary personality. Right now he is fourteen and can be very protective of his sister. Unless others are kind to him and Mei, he will be friendly in return as it is important for him to have trust in one another.

Ever since she was little, her parents have been busy working overseas, their business requires their full attention but they are doing very well, them being a very fortunate and wealthy family. There was a time though when her mother came home, but only because she was pregnant with her little brother, and soon returned to join their father in work a year after he was born, leaving Mei to look after him as his big sister. It was only the two of them, their beloved grandfather and the staff of their house left together, but in spite of that, all of them were able to get through years without their parents, even though it wasn't the love of parents they received, it was still affection and warmth that was given to them.
Although her brother doesn't share the same interest in Black Magic, he gets along with Mei fairly well, and is very attached to her, sometimes even visiting her school just o be with her. There were times she would get scolded by teachers for the sudden intrusion of her younger sibling, but she never got angry with him, as she understood his feelings. Eventually, the faculty and the school allowed her brother, named Shoji to come by as long as she takes responsibility. He is also not afraid of the dark and has no problem at all coping up with her dark hobbies.
Sometime before she joined this dark club, she was a model, only a temporary one and because her brother had insisted she tries it. Now this led to her loving to wear lolita gothic clothes, but she didn't stay in the career as it was boring for her, especially since most of her co-workers were rather irritating. Anyway, she doesn't need the money as long as she has her hobbies, family and companions. So far is the same old Mei she is, from time to time checking up on their grandparent. Their parents do keep in touch by mail and sends them all gifts, trying to replace their presence with them, but it still isn't the same.
As far as they know, their parents' business has to do with fashion, another reason why she wears dresses that are a bit showy or fancy, as she receives them from their family and can have them custom made. Her parents know nothing of her hobbies, or that she is in the Black Magic Club and she plans not to tell them for she thinks that they would disapprove of it. So whenever they come back to stay for a while, she is a different person, to fool them into thinking she is like all other ladies. Fortunately, Shoji, her grandfather and their maids and butlers supports her and helps her whenever they can.

Doesn't like it when others are being bullied, those who abuse their powers, those who think highly of themselves and many more. History
[Her powers were evident since she was very young, but as she was a child, she was no threat as she didn't know what she could do and had a happy life during the first few years. Nobody but her parents knew that she was different from the other children, and they kept it a secret as to protect their family for it is possible that some may hunt them down for their powers to use for their own selfish reasons. Mei only used small amounts of her powers to play around and how different things to her parents. Sadly, because she wasn't allowed to share it with anyone, she would have a hard time restraining herself from showing her friends, but knew that they judge her as being odd and leave her alone.
Finally, when she got a bit older, her parents decided that she would undergo strict training to master her abilities, as to lessen the chances of going berserk from too much powers. Turns out her parents possesses magical abilities as well and they have high expectations of her, a reason why she signed up to be a teacher to show that she wasn't wasting her powers. For years since she was only seven, she had been watched carefully by the eyes of her parents for progress, and to see what the real form of her powers is.
Eventually, they came to the conclusion that she is able to handle both Dark and Light, somehow the two balanced. Thus her receiving the nickname as the "Yin and Yang woman". Some of her past colleagues even took 'Yin' or 'Yang' from the title and call her that instead. Usually she will have to earn the trust and respect of one before she could allow them to use those nicknames for she takes her abilities very seriously. Although she had spent so much time training, there is still the possibility that she still is able to do things, but hasn't discovered them yet.
As always, everybody as weakness, hers being allergic to furry animals, very very furry animals. Those with coats that aren't that thick are fun, but she can't always be around them as it is bad for her to keep hugging fluffy dogs. But most animals are fine with her. Aside from her powers, she can use her hands to fight as well, which she does so often as not to reveal her powers, giving her a bit more advantage. ]

Personality: Ming is really the cool and calm type, able to keep control of herself in any situations. Very calculating and capable of thinking of strategies on the spot. Also an intelligent thinker, as she reflect everyday, practically on any topic that comes to her mind.
Even though she knows that she is not allowed to harbor the emotion of love, she cannot help but do so, for even though she has yet to know her true genus, she has a heart. It may not show, due to her constant neutral expression, but she is is a kind-hearted person and cares about the others. Except, she suffers for carrying such emotions. Despite that, she strives to hide the pain and concentrate on supporting the Sanzo party on their journey.
Usually likes to gaze at the moon, while the snow and the rain seems to be of significance to her, but it puzzles as she is not certain why. Bio: Has constantly been trying to figure out her past, as the only thing she could recall was a voice calling out to her and a light, shining from afar, before awakening in the incubation chamber, under the care of the sly Dr. Ni Jianyi. It turns out that he had kidnapped her, or somehow lured her into going with him, only to end up being experimented. The scientist decided to not tell her what she is, and instead let her go on a journey of her own, except she knows that she is still being watched by him. Although, he did tell her of the sutras implanted inside her body and pointed out the chakra on her head. At first, she stayed in Hontou Castle, but then realized that she couldn't handle staying there any longer and decided to go and seek the answers for herself. Wanting to try and remove the reminder of being handled by the doctor, she altered her appearance, dyeing her hair black to hide the natural color: fair yellow. Her clothes covers the tattoo on her back, which was placed before she woke up.
While searching the lands for any clues, she came across a dragon, a rare type left with its clan dead and decided to take him in. Kuai is the name she has given him and was shocked to find that he was gifted with different powers, but he swore to follow her and use them to aid her. Now having found a companion after a year of being alone, she continued her quest and learned about the Sanzo party, assigned to stop the revival. As she knows more about their opponents, she offered her assistance. She was accepted, after many days of trying to gain their trust, but she has yet to find out if she has received it from the priest himself.

[Truthfully, I am a quiet person, but it doesn't mean that I don't talk to people. Yes, I am capable of socializing with others, but I am more of a listener in public and I usually keep my feelings to myself. It's not like anything will change if I do as for others these are just minor. After years of being with my parents, I grew up with manners and as they say "Old habits die hard." So don't be surprised to find me being too polite as it just kicks in on its own. Except because of this, people tend to keep their distance away from me, referring me to as the "Ms. Goody-two shoes." Not my fault that I was raised that way. I also love to read, listen to music and arts. so during my free time you would either find me with my nose in a book or maybe working a new sketch.
Also I enjoy the peace and quiet, although that you could expect from a book lover like me. Many people has been shocked with my real interests, they say that it doesn't suit me only because of my appearance. So this has led me to the option of just keeping some of these hobbies a secret and let them think I'm a model or something. Which I am so not, even though my parents encourages me to but I don't think I have the confidence.
Although I do have the fashion sense, as I normally style my own hair, spice up my outfits, accessories, rooms, notebooks, etc... I am an artist after all. Let Me Tell You My Story;;[Obviously, my family is the type where status is everything, and kind of wealthy. That's what the others think but to me we're just a fortunate and unhappy family. My parents are usually too busy to actually spend some time with me and it has been this way ever since I was small. A kind old woman was my nanny, but sadly she passed away a couple of years ago and she was my first and only friend. Leaving me with my father and mother, too absorbed in work as usual, although I am not sure what they do but it involves them being out every single day for hours.
Eventually, I grew tired of them, tired of being in a house where majority of its occupants are rarely home. So one day, I requested to move to a place of my own somewhere nearby, for them not to worry. To my surprise and delight, they complied and promised to support me financially. Turns out to them it will only receive more good words from their friends on having such an independent daughter. It was annoying at first, but what the heck? They gave me permission to move out and even get a job! So with joy, I packed my stuff and moved to a nice apartment of my own. I quickly fixed up the place, arranged all the rooms the way I like it, purchased some more things to furnish it and I settled down there.
It was freedom, as I felt much better, more relaxed. With everything set up, I just spent my days the way I like, also waiting for new things to happen while being solo. Working on new artworks, reading more books, and hanging around in parks. I even got a job in a bookstore, which is happens to be one of my favorite places. Sadly, I cannot help but still feel a tad bit bored with my life. Hopefully, I will come across something or someone to add some more excitement to my life. ]

I Can Be So... || shy at first, but after a while you will find her listening attentively and also replying to topics being discussed. Bio: Was the adopted daughter of Koumyou Sanzo. Was sent away before she could even meet Kouryu to be protected from demons.
