Every time I look at you I’m plunging to my death.
Every time I think of you I’m taking my final breath.
Every time I touch you I know it could be my last.
And every time I yearn for you I remember I’m an outcast.

You have averted me from contact with you, sinking that low,
And now I finally realize why I’m crying rainbows.
My mind thinks of you and the sun comes out to play.
My heart craves you and once again it starts to rain.

You are that extra push I need to keep the day going.
You always say it will be ok, in truth never fully knowing.
You are the twinkle of a star, the soft coo of a dove,
You are my one and only, forever my true love.

But there are two moons in my red, cracked sky.
Two moons that make my mind race and my heart fly.
My feet are cemented in quicksand, and slowly I sink.
I descend swifter into oblivion the longer I take to think.

My solemn, red, cracked sky… oh how it’s torn in two.
Which moon shall I choose? The one I just met? Or you?
My mind cannot comprehend all that you both mean to me.
Should I just drop the matter, and leave you both be?

But oh how I am wondering, perplexed and confused,
Traversing a world full of puzzles, my mind so bemused.
Riddles escape their cages and enter my ears and my head,
My time is slowly unraveling, a fragile silken thread.

And in the end I find that I’m left with an unfinished dream.
My story is yet unwritten. For after all, I’m still only a teen.
And so as I gaze at my two moons, and the climax is underway,
I know I’ll find my true love… if not tomorrow, then some other day.
