Well I am sorta just getting home from work because of the midnight launch for Halo 3 and I must say, while I did have "fun", I was really disappointed in the whole thing. This is my forth midnight launch which I "work" (XB360 launch, Wii launch, WoW: BC launch and Halo 3 launch) and one would think they get better after a while.... but they really don't. First of all, as much hype as the game got and all the reservations we got, there was nobody there. By the nights end we had 3 drawers full of regulars, 1 drawer full of limited editions and a back room FULL of Legendary Editions. I think what hurt us was the fact that Wal-Mart pulled a big no no and sold the game a day before the release date it was suppose to be sold. Since Microsoft/Bungie wanted to do a world wide release it was street dated for a reason. And since they sold it before the actual date, they WILL be fined a huge amount
AAAND to make matters worse, everyone that said they would show up, didn't. The Hooters Girls were suppose to show up but they went to another store, Red bull just plain didn't show up at all, the same store that "took" our Hooters girls also snagged our fire dancers as well. The National Guard showed up and I scored free shwag from them which consists of 2 NASCAR shirts, one of those cool hats with the draw string under you head and I'm getting a NASCAR flag and "model car" for Dale Ernheart tomorrow which is cool. We had some quiz thing for some stupid lil trinkets and shirts which was pretty cool (I honestly thought we weren't going to do it but I was proven wrong) and we had a raffle for some useless crap we were going to chunk but were still really cool anyways.
So all in all, despite all the hiccups that went down, still had a great time. Saw some friends I haven't seen in a while, got cheered on by a bunch of people when I made announcements for all the stuff that was going on and scored some free stuff.
