So lets see, first there was XBox 360 launch and that was a groovy time. Then there was the Wii launch and was lame but still relatively enjoyable. Then WoW: B.C (World of Warcraft: Burning Crusades for those that don't know) and that was..... intresting, to say the least. Then Halo 3 came out and it was eventful. What do these all have in common you ask? They were somewhat fun. The 360 launch had a ton of people with food and entertainment. The same goes for the Halo 3 launch sans the entertainment. Wii and WoW were up there but highly forgettable because of the fact that they were lame.
So what does all this have to do with G.H.III? Easy, this was HELLA LAME. I mean come the bloody hell on, IT'S F'ING GUITAR HERO III, WHO THE HELL CARES!!! AND to make matters even worse, it was MANDATORY that ALL employees show up for this PoS launch. But this is the funny part, after learning that it was mandatory I was asked if I was still going to show up. DUH YOU F'TARD! OF COURSE I AM GOING TO SHOW UP FOR SOMETHING THATS MANDATORY!! You want to know how many reserves we had for it, let's just say, in a box of posters that we gave out to people who reserved the game, we didn't even go through 3/4 of the box before we had to throw them away. Yeah thats right, you heard me correct, THROW THEM AWAY! Instead of giving them to whoever bought a Guitar Hero game or just finish off the box, we chunked them. So F that in the A with a big D.
I think by the nights end, we had gone through at least a little over 30 people. the first guy showed up at closing time (9'oclock) and he vegged out until 12:00 so he was the first one at our store to pick it up. We had a back office FULL with Wii, PS3, PS2 and XB360 so there was no danger of us running out and no need for a F'ing midnight launch. What a total waste of my time I could have used playing Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core or lvling up my Dark Elf in Champions of Norrath.
