1 The silence of the grounds was interrupted by a burst of fire. At first there was nothing, merely a crater; the remains of the flame. Then, in just the blink of an eye, Samuel appeared. Just a look at the bodies of the ogres sent shivers up and down his spine. He closed his eyes and sent out a flame from his hand, and left nothing of the bodies but ashes. He looked up at the people gathered and justified his actions. "I hate bodies." An elf looked up at him from her position at the lake. Her eyes narrowed. "Who the heck are you to just barge in here like that?" she asked him. Samuel matched her dirty look and simply replied. "Call me Sam. What's it to ya?" She pinched her lips together and gave him an ever worse look. "Well, Sam, you just ruined potential supplies. 'Not liking bodies' is no excuse to randomly go torching a bunch of corpses wearing valuable armors." A witch, who had been walking away, stopped and turned around. She walked to over to a boulder and closed her eyes, holding out her hand. The rock started to shake and eventually it started lifting off the ground. She set the thing down gently to the side and looked at the spot where it had been laying. There was armor that was crushed but some would still be useful. "Hope that helps," she mumbled. The rude girl that had yelled at Sam looked at what the witch had done. "Thanks," she said. She stood over the armor and turned all the metals into one large block. A centauress stepped in. "I thank you for disposing of the bodies, but I agree with the Elf that we could've used the armor and saved my arrows for future battles," she said. Her leg was wound in a bandage, she must have hurt it. "Would you like me to fix that for you?" the elf asked, without much enthusiasm in her voice, referring to her broken leg. A boy in the background seemed to perk up. "I'm going hunting," he said quickly, and then disappeared into the forest. The elf watched as the boy left. She stood, walking over to the centauress, and waved her hand over her broken leg. "It may still hurt, but the bone's in place," she told her. All at once, two ogres appeared out of nowhere. One of them grabbed the snotty elf around the neck, and the other attacked the witch. The witch let out some sort of power, causing the ogre’s body to explode from the inside. The elf, however, wasn’t as lucky. Being choked cut off her chances of survival. Only seconds before she died, she sent out a sword of earth from the ground, hitting the ogre in the chest. Watching as the girl fell, Samuel rushed to stop her from hitting the ground. He examined her, only to find that she wasn't breathing. She looked young. "Poor kid," he thought out loud. A few moments passed, all that happened was the rest left. ‘She must not be too popular around here,’ he thought, thinking of how rude she had been when he had just arrived. “What’d I miss?” she asked. Samuel looked down at the girl. "H-how-?" he started. He had no idea what was going on. People don't just come back to life. Do they? “Magic,’’ she replied, running off before he had a chance to reply. Sam followed her into the forest, although he was still really confused. 'I'll ask her about it later,' he decided. He ran into a clearing where there seemed to be a battle going on. He saw familiar faces, like the boy from the before, who was now killing ogres like there was no tomorrow. He also saw somebody he didn't recognize, and she was obviously hurt. She must have been a Fae, because her body was tiny. But despite her small size, she was beautiful, and Sam felt as though he was in love. He ran to go comfort her, kneeling beside her, above her beautiful face. "Are you alright?" The girl looked up and shook her head slightly. “Big ogre," she tried to say. Her voice was weak. Sam spun around, seeing as the ogre charged. He sent out a flame from his hand and killed it. He quickly turned back to the Fae. "We have to get you out of here, it's not safe. I'm going to carry you, is that alright?" He didn't have time to wait for her answer; two more ogres were coming at them. He sent out flames at both of them and picked up the girl; hold her in his hand close to his chest. He frantically looked around; he needed an escape route--now. Samuel saw a space between the trees unguarded by ogres. He took a deep breath and ran as fast as he could, trying his best to keep his hands still. 'Please don't die. I don't even know your name, yet,' he begged her silently. 'Stay with me. Please.' The girl struggled. “No,” she said. Sam still didn’t let go. She may object, but she’s too injured to fight now. She struggled more, and suddenly became more powerful as Sam noticed that she had healed. He let her go and she flew away.
