Of Orbiting Gaia, Who is This, and What the Heck Happened to Dragon?

Rose had barely started her last question when an unknown person popped into existance in their midst. Nissa grabbed him, but set him down. Watching with one eyebrow raised, she saw him dart over to Shalimar. After she heard what he said- since she was only a few feet away, a surprised and yet not-so-surprised look came over Rose's face.

She stood up- since Taran was still comatose, but his heart was steady enough for now- she walked closer to him.

"So... I take it you know my niece?" she asked, in a polite tone that also hinted at if-you-answer-incorrectly-you-won't-be-alive-much-longer. She smiled, but by now, she was on the other side of Shal from him.

Then ANTIE-D's voice came over the intercom, "Entering Gaian Orbit.", approximately two seconds before Dragon re-appeared and Holly simultaneously disappeared. Rose spun to look, hearing a sickly wet cough. It was Dragon, who had coughed up blood and then passed out.

"Oh bloody hell!" Rose cursed. Why are all the responsible people falling like flies here and leaving me to heal them all? she thought. Then again, she was sure wherever Dragon had gone had something to do with Holly, and Rose was starting to understand the importance of Holly... at least a little.

"Don't leave that spot." Rose told the guy, and sped over to where Dragon collapsed. Still talking to the man, though she looked engrossed by the inspection of Dragon's wound as she was, she called over, "You still haven't answered my question." Dragon's wound was simple; a puncture wound. So why hadn't she changed into Dragon form? That should have made the wound more or less inconsequential. She checked to make sure Dragon was breathing and her heart was beating, which was all true... barely.

As she began trying to heal Dragon, she waited for the man's reply, and whispered to Dragon, "C'mon, Dragon, we still need you!"

Of Sleeping Under Bushes

Se'rox had walked for a long while. She wasn't sure what time it was when she started, and she could only really tell what time it was twice a day; when the sun was rising, flowers would slowly begin to open their petals to soak up the rays. And when the sun was setting, they closed up again. As far as in winter, she really didn't know, except when she could feel the nocturnal predators roaming in search for prey. Which animals were out and about could tell her if it was day or night, if they were in range of her senses. Only winter-time nocturnal predators seemed to ignore the range. Most others fled before people. Even nobodies.

So as Se'rox wandered, she felt a general movement of the flora in the area. They seemed to be shrinking in on themselves. And oddly enough, as much as she usually was a night-person, meaning that she liked to stay up at night more often than during day, the nobody hunters had kept her up during the days over the last... however long she was there. And she was tired now.

So, Se'rox decided to try to get some sleep. She was still in a well forested area, so she found a good bush, and crawled under it. She pulled a very dry mud layer over herself, and hid under it, with just enough of a hole to breathe through. And so, Se'rox slept under a bush.

The next morning, Se'rox felt the flowers opening and leaning towards the sun. That might have helped her get her bearings, if she only knew where her starting point had been. However, she didn't, and chose to rest a little longer.

She was startled awake not long after by footsteps. They were far off- maybe a mile or so, but nonetheless- people were out there. She got up, pulled the mud off herself, and hurried off quietly to try to intercept them. They stopped before she had a chance to catch up to them. One was human, the other was a centuar. She followed the human. They were both waiting outside houses. Se'rox felt she recognized the human, but he smelled very perterbed, so she wasn't sure.

She stopped about thirty feet behind him; still in the woods. If it was who she thought it was, he would be able to tell someone was there. And she hoped he wouldn't automatically attack, but she'd be ready if he did.

Gotta love a girl who's able to side-step her way around a room without being nervous at all.

Huh... I thought something felt weird....
