Some things just go without a word.
Not a gesture to be read or sigh to be heard.
That's the way that some people show their mirthless devotion.
That's the way you revealed it, without a bit of emotion.

Must be nice to care for someone so little.
To know my love is strong while yours is so brittle.
Surely, you loved me even a bit.
But that changed now didn't it?

You grew onto something new.
Pretending to care, while I got stuck believing in you.
It must have been nice to know that I was there.
There for you even when you didn't care.

But wait you did know, right?
You knew I would hold onto you with all my might.
Not only that but you knew I had figured it out.
You were moving on, and it was something I could do nothing about.

I could just watch as you let me writhe in pain.
Slowly watch as you forgot my name.
It was my fault though, I had fallen from your grace.
I had lost your care when I had told you to late.

Told you that I adored every breath you took.
I adored the way you refused to see me when I asked you to look.
I thought it was just all a way to tease me.
But now I realize it was a tactic to deceive me.

You tried to shade me from the lies you told.
But then they started getting old.
I realized just how fake you could be.
And just how much you didn't love me.

Now I am trying to set myself apart from you.
Though I'm not doing as good as a job I wanted too.
But steadily my release from you is growing.
My release from you and your Mirthless Ardor Regardless of Knowing.
