Finally, it was lunch time. The wind was kind of cold, but at least it wasn't freezing. Chartreuse took her lunch break out in the park today. "Wow. I never imagined fall being so beautiful." She said, and sighed. A squirrel seemed to gaze at her from a few feet away. It really did. It stood on its back legs, staring at her for a good 20 minutes. "Can I help you?" Said Chartreuse, sarcastically. She ripped off some bread from her sandwhich and threw it over to the squirrel. The squirell took it gingerly, and turned to run away. It gave a quick last look over its shoulder, and then up the tree it scurried. "That...was wierd." said Chartreuse, outloud. Suddenly, she heard footsteps behind her. "Oh. I'm sorry, Miss. I didn't know anyone came out here for lunch." said a male's voice. Chartreuse knew that voice. She swore she knew it. Her freckled face blushed slightly as she turned. In front of her stood a handsome young man, with brilliant red hair. His name, as she knew, was Gavin O'Connell. Her 'Crush' so to speak. He had completely gorgeous emerald eyes, with no speck of impurity. He was tall, and muscular, and dressed well. Not to mention he was Valedictorian at his High School, and probly was too smart for College. The only problem was, no matter how she tried to catch his attention, he never saw her. There was always a crowd of girls around him, like it was Still high-school, or something. "H-hi. No its fine. You can sit with me." Said Chartreuse. She tried to look happy. It didn't work out as well as she hoped. "Thank you." Said Gavin. He set his books on the table, and stared for a moment at her. Kind of like how the Squirrel just did. "Oh! You're that girl who plays the Violin in Orchestra, aren't you?" Gavin exclaimed. He Beamed, with his godlike smile shining light onto Chartreuse's face. She blushed more. "Yes. I'm Chartreuse Smith, by the way." "Its nice to meet you, Chartreuse. I'm Gavin. Gavin O'Connell." He held out a hand and shook Chartreuse's Hand. "You're in my Calculus Class." Said Chartreuse, "I sit right next to you." Gavin looked thoughtful for a moment. "Yeah...I remember you." He said. "So what is your Major?" "Business.", Replied Chartreuse. "No kidding. I'm in that major, too. That's wierd. I don't recall meeting you before." said Gavin. "Sure is." She said. She knew him since she was a freshman in High School, though. "Listen, Char, I've gotta get going. Next class starts soon. I'm glad to have met you. I'll talk to you this afternoon in Calc." With that, he was gone. As soon as he was out of sight, Chartreuse attempted a smile and a laugh. The edges of her mouth curved up slightly and a tiny giggle escaped. "Hey...!" she said aloud. "I met my goal today! I wonder what else will happen." She went to clean up, and found a piece of paper that she hadn't bought with her. "Call me." It said, and had a cell phone number written on it. "Oh...this is just like the luck of the irish. Next there will be a pot of gold." sighed Chartreuse. She packed up and ran off to her next class.
