Yuni ran through the forest, trying to escape the thing persuing her. She had no idea what she had done for it to start chasing her, but it had and now she was running for her life. She had a weird feeling though. She was happy for running away.
After a few more minutes of running she ran into a clearing and stopped. She turned around and took her sword out. The thing came burst through the trees and landed in front of her. It looked like a giant bear, but it had a hatred in it's eyes that made it a killer. It's fur was black and it was about double her size.
She stared at it and the bear-like creature stared back. After a few seconds of them staring back and forth the creature dashed towards her. Before Yuni could bring her sword up a ring of fire erupted and surrounded the bear. It roared with anger and tried to find a way out of the fire surrounding it.
After a long time of waiting the bear-creatured fell over and died from the lack of oxygen. The ring of fire disappeared and Yuni turned around to see a man standing behind her. He had short, black hair and deep-blue eyes that stared at the creature. His eyes then riveted onto her. He was muscular and well-built, everyone feared him but even though he looked like a killer he was a gentle man. He was wearing dark-red clothes that fit his form and made it look like he was covered in blood.
"You're late Yuni." The man's voice came out as a rumble. If he wanted to he could probably kill her but then again, so could she.
"Not my fault Kiro. I was attacked." Yuni said and looked back at the bear-creature.
Kiro gave her another looked before stepping around her and going over to the creature. Yuni knew he liked her and she couldn't blame him. Her short-red hair came down long enough to cover her eyes if she wanted to. It was a good way to hide her eyes. They changed color with her mood and helped her with the weather. She pulle dout a small mirror and looked at them. They were purple so she knew she was calm for the moment. Yuni put the mirror in her pocket and saw Kiro give her another look before turning away quickly. She had a slender body and wore a long-silver dress with a black belt that shaped her form.
They both belonged to a group of mercenaries called the Starters. Each one in the group had at least one power and had to wear the appropriate color for their rank. Since Kiro was wearing red it meant his power was fire and she was wearing grey which meant she had power over the weather. There were other colors for the other but all Yuni had to worry about was her gray.
Kiro stood up and walked back to her. "I took a sample from your creature over there. It doesn't look good so we better hurry back."
"Ok." Yuni turned and headed towards their camp. She could sense in the air that something was going to happen, and soon, and it didn't feel like a good thing.
