In vampire lore, there tends to be two distinct types of vampires. There are the blood drinking vampires, and then there are the life force drinking, or psychic vampires. The blood drinking variety appears to be more common in vampire lore then the psychic vampire. This is probably because many cultures believe blood is life force. Psychic vampires are featured more prominently in Chinese mythology that in European mythology, with the exception of Romanian mythology. Romanian mythology by far has the most species of vampire, including the famous Nosferatu, a lusty blood drinking vampire. Psychic vampires do not even need to be dead. Many types of Psychic vampires are depicted as living people. Where or not they exist is up to the individual.
