Okay, so ,my 4th of July was not bad. Every year, we have this huge neighborhood parade with floats and bikes and whatnot, and this year my family actually built a float...yes we did...in two days...staying up 'till 2 am working on it. My friend Samantha was there to help, and we drew, painted and cut out a HUGE friggin' dragon. She was blue...anyway, then we made a huge cardboard castle complete with drawbridges ( xd ) and stone-like painting. We had cardboard trees in the back of my stepdad's truck (which is also where my two little brothers sat, dressed up as knights...yeah...). My sisters dressed up as princesses, and me and Sam, refusing to dress up (We were NOT going to be fairies... scream ) sat in the back of the truck with our feet dangling off the edge....oh yeah, and we got to chuck candy at people and watch them fight over it, which was fun. xd So we rode all the way down to the nieghborhood club house, where we got popsicles and Dip 'N Dots (R)...yes I felt like copyrighting that. Me and Sam were tired from the previous night of staying up and painting all night and morning, so we headed back home...and ended up falling asleep. I was sacked out on the sofa, she was on the reclining chair.
We remained asleep until all 5 or my younger siblings came home accompanied by my stepcousins. They woke us up trying to find the remote (which I had in my hand xD ) and turn on the XBox. I rolled over, remote still in hand, trying to hide it from them. They eventually found out I had it and, thinking I was still asleep, tried to grab it from me....that didn't work. Needless to say, they eventually got it and me and Sam truged off, quite unhappy to have been awoken.
Later, we went to a little neighborhood cookout and had dinner (which was AMAZING!...even though I ended up spilling my mac and cheese and the ground since it was balancing on my knees...oh well.) Sam and I just hung out with my neighbor and watched him chuck fireworks all over the place. He was sticking them in water bottles, which would pop like 6 feet in the air, resulting in my constant laughter. When your bored, you find stuff you generally wouldn't find funny hilarious...hence my laughter.
We then proceeded to go to a neighborhood firework show (which wasn't very impressive AT ALL= My family and stepcousins went to watch them at a better view.....me and Sam just sat on the hood of the car and watched. There were a couple of other teens setting off big fireworks close by, and they would explode right over our heads, which was cool. Other than that, we got to the point where we were judging who's fireworks were better then the other's. There were two sets of professional firework people there, so we judged them. It was entertaining for a while. We finally left, dropping my mom and little 1-yr old brother back off at the house, then my stepdad took us to Sonic (R) for milkshakes....yes, I'm copyrighting that one too. xD
So, yeah, overall, it wasn't bad...boring at some parts, but it was an overall good day. Hope yours was too! 3nodding
