Chapter 15
Kisa
Yuki seemed scared of me since yesterday. We’ve been traveling together for two days now, but she will only talk if she is asked a direct question, then she aims her response towards Shishou or Hachi. I was really curious about her hyena. I wanted to talk to it badly.
“Yuki? Could I talk to your hyena please? What’s his name?”
“A. my name isn’t Yuki, B. his name is Puppy, and C. you usually don’t ask to talk to a hyena, but sure, not like he’ll answer…” I smiled widely.
“Thank you! Puppy is such a cute name!” a smile touched her lips. I turned to Puppy and cleared my throat. He opened an eye sluggishly. “Um, hi Puppy, I’m Kisa!” I smiled at him and he twitched.
“PUPPY? What kind of name is PUPPY?!?” I was taken aback by his outburst.
“I’m sorry, then what IS your name?” I blinked angelically.
“I’m known as Dannen, abandoning hope of the Haiena clan!”
“That’s a long name; could we just call you Dan?”
“Dannen.” Yuki was staring at us with an immense interest.
“You can talk…to animals?” I nodded. “So, we call him Dannen?”
“Yup!” this was our longest conversation, and I told her so. Yuki seemed much more open after that.
