.....Taiko?
thwang, thwang, thwang! The awful pounding echoed through the large, Victorian style house.
From inside the house came a moan that belonged to an elderly old woman the age of a ripe sixty. She stood from her high armed chair and set her book down on the small, round, side table next to it and walked out of the study/living room.

“Ayeee….. who’s knocking?” The old woman said, taking up the katana next to the door silently. Her voice quivered, amking herself sound as if she were much older than she really was. She then unsheathed the sword as no reply came, and reached out to open the door.

“Back up boys….” Ximly said quietly, her blade taking form in her hand. The sword then began to change once more, the ice crystals forming two, diamond shaped spear heads on either side of the staff, forming a lance. Ximly stood back and took a firm grip on her weapon with both hands as the tip of her tail twitched and her eyes darted from side to side.

Brian looked to Timmy with a confused look, and the smaller boy returned it with one of his own. They both shrugged and looked back to Ximly who hadn’t moved.

“Ayyyyyyeeeeee!!!!”

Ximly looked to the side when the scream reached her ears, along with the sound of Taiko drumming in the distance. Brian and Tim jumped as the old woman crashed out window with her sword in hand, going for ximly, and then as the dragon morph blocked each blow to the beat of the drum. Before long, Brian had started to laugh at the sigh of Granny Brain in her HUGE bifocal glasses and old lady clothes fighting with a katana against his half morphed mother and her lance.

“Mom!” Ximly growled between blows, “Mum! Take the glasses off!”

“Nay, I’ll not fall for that trick you scurvy theif!”

Ximly growled once more as she blocked another blow from her mother, this time with more force, setting the old woman off balance. It was then within the split second moments that Ximly went on the offensive and struck out at her mother’s face with the sharp end of the lance, slicing through both arms of the glasses without harming her mother.

The two lenses, still connected, fell from Granny’s nose as the arms that held them in place fell off to the side, and hit the ground on the last beats of the drum.

“Ohhh!!! Deary! What are you doing here?” Granny Brain asked, blinking at the sigh of her morphed daughter.

Ximly slumped and let out a sigh, her lance vaporizing into the air. She put a hand up to her head and shook it, “You worry me sometimes mother….”

Granny brushed herself off and then looked around, “Ahhh!! Brian! Timmy! Come and give Granny a hug!” She said happily, holding her arms open for a hug.

Brian walked forward and attempted to give his grandmother a hug, but a sly, sleek, black, oddly dressed weasel had occupied the woman’s arms in a blink of an eye. Granny let out a laugh, but still had a scolding tone in her voice. “Mortimer, you little rat…” She voiced, causing the bandana wearing weasel to seemingly laugh. The weasel, Mortimer, wore a little black vest, and some how managed a little white bandana with a red dot on the middle of it, on his head. He had a belt that held two wooden sticks, Taiko drumsticks. It had been Mortimer playing the drums in the distance…. How was a mystery, even to Granny, but she loved the little critter all the same, and it knew that.

Ximly shook her head and crossed her arms. “Little rat indeed…. Coover says hello.”

Mortimer laughed again. He welcomed his partner in crime’s greeting with his own for Ximly to deliver.
