First off it was chilly and cold and looked like rain. But it went all happy and sunny. I'm short of cash so next week is going to be fun. That to the side, we went cup day carnival fair, which was lots of fun. We spent money on plants and silly stuff.

Then i stopped by another annual fair thingie... which had odds and ends
AAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNND a lady with plant stall with lots of mixed bag pots. She couldn't tell me what was in most of the pots so I got some freebies and cause they were all grown from cuttings, I got a dozen and more pots of plants for twenty $ and since most of the pots had two or three different types of plant in there I got a real bargain.

Better yet, the lady like me and took my number. She's going to let mum and me go take a look at her garden when she's ready, which will be AWESOME.

Well that was fun.

The sucky bit came when I got home, found mum not there and rang her. Seems our foolish, silly puppy, the 10 (possibly) year old dog Bess, got through a hole and ran out onto the road... where she promptly got skittled by a car.

She's not dead but she's going to lose one of her back legs. The problem is her owner is in Milan, Italy... and we didn't have her number.

We had three options to pick from. Try and save the leg at 2500 plus and Bessy will limp, even if they managed to save the leg. Take off the mangled leg at $800 and hope Bessy adapts to being a three legged foo beast or put her down. Mum and I both vetoed that one. No way would we put Bessy down unless there was nothing we could do to save her.

the back seat of the car is stained and covered in blood. blood stained towels and seat covers, gah what mess. Bessy's leg looked so bad. Her foot was all loose and dangling. She had a bone sticking through skin. It was broken in three places and worse... she couldn't even stand. Oh, Bessy.

Worse yet, when I sent her owner an e-mail she thought I'd said I and mum voted for Bessy to be put down, when I said VETOED totally different meaning. Veto means to refuse.

Ah well, and my holidaying sister rang... she didn't have fun. sigh.
