Today I:
-Moved books around on the shelves in the now-almost-finished reference section, which is now nearly entirely down on the first floor. Linda wanted the Dewey decimal numbers to be a little neater on the ends of shelves, but in some cases that was impossible, as there were far too many books to move (resulting in up to four decimal places in some cases...oh well).
-Made signs for all of the shelves stating which Dewey decimal numbers were on those shelves, 000-999. Oh, and the strictly "reference" books, too. I used Publisher for the first time. Fortunately they already had a template.
-Had to find a printer that worked. Lots of technology problems caused by the move.
-Used a paper cutter to cut out the tags! Huzzah! Did not cut myself.
-Put signs on the shelves that had holders. Went on a search for more holders. Was ultimately unsuccessful, so had to improvise. Used cardstock/cardboard to make borders for tags with no holders, then used double-sided tape to attach them to shelves. OH SO PRETTY.
-Learned about ILL (Inter-Library Loan) proceedings and how to request books from libraries outside our consortium.
-Read shelves. Good way to get a headache.
