One of my signs that I had made and taped up yesterday (the Encyclopedia one) had fallen down, so I taped it up again. Then I labelled boxes of tax forms and moved them under a desk. Linda taught me a bit about the weeding process next (they have to be marked as "w" in the system, hurrah), and I helped her deconstruct a file cabinet so that it could fit under the desk in their "new" office.

And then I read shelves. And helped a patron try to find psychology books, which was made harder by the fact that the system-searching computers were down (and because the patron was not very clear about what he wanted, leading to a poor reference interview).

Then I went to the second floor to put away some pamphlets (they haven't moved the pamphlet drawers down yet) and search for the piece of paper that had all of the phone numbers on it. I couldn't find it, but I did get someone to print me a new sheet.

I also learned about Value Line and Kiplinger Investment Surveys.

Back up and down several times between floors - I brought down signs (the no food/drink signs, patron rules, computer rules, reshelving signs, various bookmarks and handouts, etc.), trash cans, typewriters, drawers of office supplies, lamps...all in an old shopping cart. xD

I guess they got rid of their microfische stuff, so when we found extra sleeves and files for that, we had to discard them.

And then I helped set up a computer and did more shelf reading.

There seems to be a bit of tension between the reference people and the children's librarians (probably because of the move...it was either the second floor reference or the basement children's library moving).
