The Warmth of a Kiss

The quiet of the night, a dark and mysterious sight.
Snow drifts under moonlight.
Walking alone, on this empty road.
My heart has become numb, from midnight’s cold.
Singing a song, yet listening too.
The silence of winter, reminds me of you.
Frozen, lifeless, my heart turns to stone.
I disappear tonight, proud, but alone.
Abandoned, forgotten, just another face in the crowd.
Trapped underneath this ice, my love for you drowns.
Falling, sinking. I won’t ever be found.
My life is like December, everyday.
Because I gave up, and walked away.
It’s getting colder, putting out the fire in my heart.
The ice beneath my feet, is breaking apart.
It shatters, I fall, forgiving a lie.
All becomes still, as the winter wind cries.
My sight grows dark, as I fade from the skies.
I must be dreaming, I couldn’t believe my eyes.
Because there you were, falling with me, no need for goodbyes.
I held you closer, as we were swept away by the winter.
The voice in the night told me “This is your chance to kiss her”.
