Your simple little smile
Pushed aside my foes
It took away my troubles
And shunned outside my woes

When I saw your kindness
You took away my tears
You banished all my misery
And you chased away my fears

The shiny glimmer in your eyes
Gave me quite an alarm
Because this time when I looked at you
There was only kind instead of harm

The sun was shining everywhere
Everything you did was deed
But then came that fateful day
When I came to you in need

I came to you with outstretched hands
Hoping to find a friend
But you simply brushed me off
And left me alone in the end

Your dark empty glare
Didn't bother me for a while
But then it started to take effect
And you took away my smile

That swift gesture of your hand
Took away my pride
It took away my happiness
And pushed my laugh aside

Your cold hostile countenance
Made me hide inside my shell
Until one day I realized
You had taken that as well

Everything was invisible
All I could do was pray
And then before I knew it
My faith had flown away

When you finally came to me
To make amends for all you'd done
It was all hopeless, all too late
You had taken away the sun
