A couple trapped in the woods
By dark and bitter cold
Both lost their souls to that night
A story never told

The girl sat down on the log
Tears streaming down her face
"I'm sorry babe, but its over now..."
He said with a slow pace

With a finger to his lips
She started with her speech
And as she finished with "I need you"
She kissed him on the cheek

To her surprise the boy pulled back
As the girl passed from his sight
He turned and walked away too fast
To see her face turn white

A few minutes passed that night
Until he heard no cry
He felt the pain he caused to her
As a tear slide from his eye.

The boy really did love her
He made her his dear queen
But as he went to tell her that
He was shocked by what he'd seen

Her body covered in snow
And her lips prickled with frost
A linger of ice through her golden hair
And her voice completely lost

The body of his beloved one
Was proof of his one sin
And though she died from cold without
He died from cold within
