Practicum
I spent most of the day weeding magazines...we finally have all of the 2008 serials either up in the rolling stacks (those that we keep back issues of) or weeded, blacked out, and nicely arranged on book carts so that patrons can browse them and hopefully give a small donation when they take them. I also talked with a couple of the Foundation people and learned that it is very badly off indeed. They are just now finishing paying off a loan. The people who gave the loan stipulated that the Foundation could not sell anything, but once they are no longer under those stipulations, they very well may sell things. They are already going to lease part of the building, and they might sell the excess furniture, some of the collections (Asian and bell, among others), the rare books...
