AGH!! My music. Where has it gone? D:
Okay, so...Let me start off by saying, I'm a fairly cheap person with VERY cheap parents. So I don't get money that often, and when I do, it's not very much. So I get most of my music from downloading it off the internet, rather than buying the CD. For free. And I know that's probably illegal in some way, shape, or form...Okay, it IS illegal. But I never said I was proud of it. D:

I'd REALLY much rather get my music through ways that are actually LEGAL. But many times I only like 1 or 2 songs off of a CD. I'm not going to spend all of my money on a CD for just ONE SONG...And I can't buy it off of iTunes, because...A) I hate Apple. B) My parents would never go for that. (As if they would go for me downloading it off the internet...But still.) And I don't wanna have to resort to only listening to music from the internet when I'm on the computer. Especially since youtube's getting retarded now with all that copyright crap. -_-;

But all of this leaves me with the question: Why do you have to PAY for music? I understand that the money goes back to the artists and producers, since that's their whole career. But, I mean...I dunno. It just seems a bit unfair to the consumer to have to pay so MUCH. A song in iTunes is 99 cents. That's almost a dollar per song. That's EXPENSIVE for music!! (To me.) I mean, who wants to pay a dollar for one song that's 3 or 4 minutes long?

And I LOVE music. I listen to anything and everything. Hip-hop, rock, metal, alternative, rap, country, pop, techno, disco, classical, opera, anything Japanese...That's alot of genres to cover. So if we MUST pay for music, can't it be...CHEAPER? The average price for a new CD is about, what, $12? $15? That means it would only take 7 CD's to cost about $100. D: (And you know...On top of all that...The disc drive on our computer is broken, so I wouldn't be able to use a CD even if I wanted to. >.< )

With all that being said, I usually get my music with free downloads over the internet like www.dogpile.com, or from Limewire. It's probably illegal and I'm probably breaking some form of law in some way or another, but...It's fast and free with good results. Who can deny that?

But lately, all of my music sources have been letting me down. I don't want to use Limewire as much, because it's really risky. There's this other site I use that lets you download the audio from online videos, mainly from youtube, but since youtube is being retarded, that site doesn't download youtube videos anymore. And last time I checked, www.dogpile.com doesn't even let you search for audio files anymore. And I hate using torrent downloads, since it's hard to get them to work. D:

I probably feel this way because I'm cheap. Or maybe because I don't believe in paying THAT MUCH for music. Or maybe I say it because I'm stubborn, I dunno. I'm sure if I were a music artist, I wouldn't be complaining. But it all just seems a bit unfair to me. >.<
