Song of the Day...Leave Out All The Rest, by Linkin Park

Status: good

Really, today was an overall great day! I don't get one of those everyday, now do I? But seriously, it was good.

In the morning, I was really cranky because Amma was coming with me to my workplace even though I seriously didn't need her to be there or want her to be there. And at first it was pretty quiet, sitting on the little green bug infested benches at Behagen Playground, but after the intro with Valerie (supervisor), once we got around to walking around the neighborhood and learning about the trees, it got better.

I got to know Samantha, whose a freshman, soon to be sophomore, at the Fashion and Design School ( i forget if it was in manhattan or the bronx, i think manhattan). She's really hilarious! x] And then with her, when we were airing the trees (raking the hard soil), we got to know Ayana (sp?), whose was also pretty cool once I started talking to her. I didn't really get to know the other guys although they seem nice. The 18 year old guy (oldest in our group), Jyron (sp?) I think, seemed pretty nice and easy to talk to too. Overall, people were unresponsive at first but it turned out that we work together alright. Oddly enough, I turned out to be the peppy one of the group. xD And apparently the only one who wouldn't mind doing this even if I weren't getting paid. xD (or maybe not, not to underestimate anyone).

Hm, well, it involved a lot of walking around and such and Valerie taught us a LOT about trees. =3 Which I think is really cool. So, I hope tomorrow goes well! Hopefully, we should have compost tomorrow so we can fertilize the trees. And I am so bringing my handball tomorrow! There is oh so conveniently a handball court right at Behagen Playground, so it should be fun! I hope it'll be good for bonding with the others working there too, cause some people were still rather quiet.

Well, afterwards, Samantha and Ayana and I walked down to the 2 train station back at Prospect/160th st. Ayana went uptown home and Samantha and I went uptown. She got off at 149th to transfer to the 4, because she lives around Mosholu I think. And then I went on down to Time Sq and to Union Sq. It was pretty fun talking to Samantha on the train. She even recognized the book I was reading at Barnes and Nobles! Speak. She kind of spoiled it for me, but I'm still reading it. The girl isn't a weirdo, a misfit, or an emo. It turns out that she got raped and thats why she called the police at the party, but she wasn't able to tell anyone. I need to finish reading tomorrow!

Hm, so when I got to Union Square I just went to Subway's first thing for a tuna sandwich. The one that I went to the first time without Noelle and Patsy, is apparently right on University Place. It's across the street from the Bank of America. xD

After that, I debated going to the library to read the chapters for class or going to BN and reading whatever I wanted. Since I knew almost everything already during the first lesson, I figured the second couldn't be that big a step up, so I went to BN and read more of Speak in the back corner of the childrens section on the second floor. Its a nice quiet little place to sit back there. =3

Around 5:15ish, I went off to my class. I got there early this time since I've realized that there's no point in cutting through the fountain area if I just follow the sidewalk. xD It was much more open today I think. Its like we all know each other already. =3 Although I don't quite remember all the names, it was quite a friendly atmosphere. =] I sat next to Richard today, who was the asian guy (the other asian that i met on the first day when we were searching for the room seems to have disappeared o.o, as well as the second year college girl who was sitting next to me yesterday). Well, Richard was pretty nice. He introduced me to Elaine, who actually gets there faster than most of us (an hour) when she lives in NJ! And I talked to Lily and Michellee and others. It was nice. =]

The class was also quite interesting. A nice way to look at ecology. I mean it was so much more boring freshman year. Seriously, it just felt like memorizing things back then. But I really like my teacher, he has a good sense of humor. =]

Afterwards, I left with Michellee (shes a senior at Renaissance which is a HS in Lehman HS) and another girl (the one i met at the orientation, whose name escapes me T.T) and we went down to 8th street/Broadway where we took the R to Time Sq. Then the girl I met at the orientation (ill get her name figured out tomm xD) separated from us. We took the 2 together. I didn't see Buffy there today, although he said he'd be there. Hm. Well, Michellee took the 2 with me up till 180th, where she transfers to the 5 since she goes to Gunhill (the Dyre Ave direction one I guess). It was really interesting talking to her too. =3 Its really great how there was no real awkward atmosphere at work and at the classes. Its a lot of fun getting to know these people!

I hope its just as great tomorrow.

I also hope I have more time...to read at BN! >_>
