Live Through M.E.

Hello, this is your T.V.
For the last 3 years, you've lived through me.
Drowning out reality, watching the world vicariously.
You've told me all your problems openly,
and though i cannot solve them, you've trusted me.

And then one day you left your T.V.
For seven long days you ignored me.
On the eighth you burst in quite suddenly;
There was no apology.
I watched you watch the 350 Z,
And was overcome with jealousy
At the thought of you having fun without me!

You stared at me without passion
while you ate.
I decided it was time to take action
to set you straight.
I sprang from my stand
and hobbled toward you.
You scrambled out of your chair
but there was nothing you could do.
With shock and awe you fell unconscious;
to the basement, I rolled you.
Am I not justified in being jealous?
I believe my actions were neither hasty nor undue.
But it's okay now, it'll be alright.
Don't worry your little head, just sit tight!
Please be quiet, what's given you such a fright?
I just wanted you to watch me every night!
Let's just calm down and watch some T.V. tonight.
It'll be just like old times: aren't you filled with delight?

Uncertainty

Despite the good that has filled my life,
I can't help feeling like we're due for a Miracle.
I'll be waiting for a Sign.
I will stare straight into the Sun
And i won't close my Eyes.
I won't look away until I see a Sign.
Or until I go Blind.

And if we're truly to be Blessed,
To be given a Godsend,
May it be channeled through my Soul:
Make this broken Man Whole,
For a whole Man needs no Eyes.
