The Various Things
Page 3 of Poetry
After a large lapse, here is section three. I anticipate that there will be several edits (and most likely re-edits), so keep a look out (that is, if you actually care to read what I have). And now...

Newborn Star
I have found my little Shining Star.
Indeed, it is miniscule, as all things are from such a distance.
And yet, if one were to cross that distance in an instant,
That one would discover the truth of the beloved Star:
It is quite contrasting to the world's view of it.
It is great in size and importance.
It sheds its light willingly to all that come near it.
It does not ask for anything in return.
It does not cry out for attention,
Nor does it beg for friendship.
It lights its own path into the wild black beyond,
And travels of its own accord
To a place all its own.
A place where it shall be renowned and heralded
As a hero of its many vast spaces.
It shall not be snuffed out.
It shall not be blown aside, or lost in the grandeur of time.
History shall not release this Shining Star,
For this Star, above all else, shines--
And will forever shine-- brightest.
And its light shall expend itself upon all those for millenia to come.
Both the worthy and unworthy--
Both the willing and unwilling shall be bathed in its glow.
Do not lose sight of my little Shining Star.
I shall not lose my little Shining Star.
Many years it will take to grow,
But at the end of those countless ages
It shall shine brightest in the night sky.

New Age Bonding for the Youth
Each government is run by its masses of mobs.
And our masses of mobs whine most pitifully their demands of comfort and ease.
Our air-conditioned, lazy, self-centered masses cry out,
"Blame us not, for ignorance and idiocy is none our fault!"
And our spineless executives willingly degrade.
They degrade -- recede -- falling toward the future with uneasiness.
A steadily declining path we have set.
One of common complacency at the government's expense.
Free will for the gleeful man that does his work with joy.
For what better way to be complacent then with a love of work in mind?
Morals? No, no, you're missing the big picture!
Progress! Your efforts are only as worthwhile as the end result.
Promiscuity? Such a thing is the lifeblood of comfort!
Children shouldn't be restrained and scolded.
What children need is encouragement.
Encourage them to discover themselves.
Encourage them to discover sex, and drugs, and euphoria all on their own.
Leave the budding flowers to bloom on their own.
Do not fear the parasites that feast upon them, for that is Nature's way.
It's time for our dear precious adolescents to discover for themselves:
This is New Age Bonding for the youth.

When The World Goes Dark
Seated before a monitor with hands in quick action;
Just another day in an ordinary life.
The eyes monitor.
Monitor what?
The hands, the text, the pixelated colors, the rays of light?
No, it's much more; the conclusion that embodies all of those,
And more.
Just another day in an ordinary life.
Like many of those days, it alone has a special surprise.
One that could never again happen within the likes of chance.
A chance so unlikely and special that it shall be remembered
For the rest of life.
The heart goes aflutter, and breaths become short.
Scrambling from one room to the next,
but no one is there to heed the call.
Panic seizes the mind and the body.
Clutching the chest, gasping for breath.
Sinking to the floor.
Inhale deep, but come up short.
Wheezing, searching for help,
But it is for naught.
No one hears the isolated suffering.
Curled on the carpet, still clawing at the heart.
The heart that paces itself like frightened rabbit.
The lungs that fill themselves only halfway.
Blinking, trying to find a focus.
It's all just a blur.
The indiscernable surroundings disappear.
That's the day when the world goes dark.

Omniscient by Mareimbri

A baby is born into this world
So sweet as his fingers slowly uncurl
Days and months pass by as he grows
At a rate so fast his mind hardly knows
A childhood of innocence doesnt exist
For his mind wishes nothing be missed
Then one day not far after his birth
A girl he meets who is not of this earth
Together they frolick and play
Until the time for her to go away
She says I must continue my trek
Before the universe becomes a wreck
The baby who became a man head hangs low
For he wishes her to stay and not to go
His mind tugs as she speaks of adventures
She knows will come and offers him a clencher
His head raises up as his interest peaks
A smile croses his face widely as she speaks
For you my dear are like me in every way but one
I need you to travel with me or I will be undone
She waited as his eyes grew brighter
She knew he was a fighter
I came to you and it is you I love
Guided here I was by a small white dove
Every where I went I was lost
For there I found but a lonely frost
Today I leave here with you an omniscient
You are the only like me and more than sufficient
For the one thinig we differ is something I will
Teach you without delay for you have much skill
As I am omniscient and omnipotent as well
And these talents you shall have as well
The baby who became a man traveled the world
And lived happily ever after as their adventures unfurled

I like this poem because....it is so much unlike the others. I like the others because they are dark and well, shocking. But, this one seems to show another side of you. It's very, very hopeful. I like it. *Nods in approval* Very Nice.

EDIT: Hmmm.....very interesting.....a political commentary and a critique of adults....very meaningful.

Such contrast between the 3 poems. Interesting! The last one=great sadness for those who live their life through the computer and not in real life. great sadness, indeed!

Just when I thought he was actually going to have a collection of happy, hopeful....non-Coryish poems......................He writes "When the World Goes Dark." Either way, I like it very much. I don't like much free-verse...but you manage to interest me with most of these anyways. *Nods*

**Goddess Emi stamp of approval** XD

P.S. Did I ever tell you how much I love the first one? :O XD
